F1GP | It’s a tight race between Ocon and McLaren for P4, and Ocon thinks it is “not time to rest”
World Cup : With just seven points separating Alpine and McLaren in the race for P4 in the constructors’ standings, Esteban Ocon does not see it as a comfortable lead heading into Sao Paulo.
The season’s penultimate Grand Prix and final Sprint take place at Brazil’s fan-favorite Interlagos, where Alpine and McLaren pick up where they left off in their battle for fourth place in the standings. Alpine is now in the lead, although narrowly.

Ocon said, “No, not at all,” when asked whether he can chill down before entering Brazil. A lot has transpired over the course of this lengthy season, but there will be no rest for the weary until the final flag drops in Abu Dhabi. Naturally, it will be tense right up to the very end.

All the improvements we were making were huge strides forward in general, and we definitely grew tremendously well during the season. We still need to maintain doing this more regularly next year; we are not yet in a position to be in the top five all the time, but we’ve touched it at times.
Alonso, who is leaving McLaren for Aston Martin, has remarked that the Sprint is more of a “opportunity” than a “threat” to his team, but the upcoming weather might go either way.
“I see it more as an opportunity than a danger right now, and… looking up, the prediction is probably the most worrisome thing if we aren’t ready for any rainy [weather] at any time throughout the course of the weekend. Although the two-time champion quit from the Mexico City GP before Ocon grabbed P8, he deemed the race to be “straightforward” other than that.
